Thanks for training us for our baby, DOUG!!

Having a baby is tough stuff, we all know that, even if you don't have kids. Aaron and I are of course nervous for our 1st child. We want to make sure he doesn't get into stuff he shouldn't or eat things that he shouldn't. Thanks to Doug, we are somewhat MORE prepared to handle that kind of stuff. Example...waking us both up with a awful hacking noise then throwing up something he chowed down from the backyard earlier that afternoon. Example 2.... "how did all this toilet paper get all over our room?!" Example 3...never let him up on the bed, he will never want to leave.

Chew this instead of our T.P.

"You are not cute Doug!!!"

The Greatness of Mothers

Aaron and I have the greatest moms' and here is why. As newly expecting parents, we were wondering where we would get a lot of our big baby purchases like a crib, changing table...etc. Aaron's mom works hard right now doing 2 jobs and works 6 days a week but she lovingly offered to buy our crib. She told us to go to Target, pick one out and buy it and she would reimburse us. We looked all over and found the one we wanted, at the Tempe Marketplace Target, made out of beautiful cherry wood. Little did we think though that this crib would fit into our little VW Passat(terrible cars, don't ever get one). So after a few minutes trying to get into our car, we had no other choice but to get a bigger car. Luckily, my mom has a Expedition. My mom works hard also, working long hours 5 days a week so Saturdays are her days to get a lot of errands done. I called her and she was doing her shopping but said she would be right there. When she got there, the crib slipped right in the car and we got it home safe and sound. Without our mothers though, none of this could have happened. We are so grateful for everything they do even when we make thoughtless decisions.

We ate goldfish as we waited.

Labor....

So all day yesterday I was feeling really crappy. My stomach was cramping all day, my body just didn't feel right. So I had Aaron call his mom (she's a labor & delivery nurse) to see what her thoughts were. She said that it sounded like I was going into pre- term labor. She said to lay down and drink lots of water. As the night went on my stomach starting hurting worse. So around 9 o'clock I called my doctor and he said that I had been contracting all day and to go to the hospital. Once we got to the hospital they hooked me up to all these machines to monitor the contractions. After a couple hours the nurse decided I need a shot to relax my uterus. After some more waiting the nurse said the shot was helping and that we could go home!

The nurse said I just need to take it easy and I might have to get the shot again in 3 or 4 weeks. I'm just so glad that everything was okay with the baby, and that it was nothing to serious!

Just waiting...

Easter

On Sunday, Aaron, Doug and I went over to my parents house and had brunch! We had chocolate chip pancakes, eggs, bacon and muffins. After we ate, we had an egg hunt for all the kids. All the kids loved Doug and he loved them! After my parents, we went to the cemetery with Aaron's family to visit his grandma who passed away on April 4, 2006.

Yes Aaron and I got a dog! His name is Doug he is 8 months old! He is a miniature lab. He is so sweet and friendly. We love him! He doesn't bark, jump, lick to much. He's perfect (so far we've only had him for a couple hours!) Aaron and I have wanted a dog forever and now we finally have one! :)

More Changes

So we had rocks in our front yard and after the big rain storms we've been having all the grass/weeds starting growing through the lovely rocks. It started to look pretty bad so Aaron decided he just wanted to take all the rocks out and grow grass. One EARLY Saturday morning Aaron and Tommy shoveled up all the rocks! While Natalie and I went to QT got the biggest drinks they had and watched movies the whole time! :)
